Instro receives a repeat order for the supply of 200+ specialists tracking head/tripods

The order from a major US defence contractor is for delivery in 2010 and is for the supply of an in service combined tripod/tracking head. The tripod features an integral damped pan and tilt head and been designed specifically for use in moving or stationary target acquisition and marking applications.

European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP07)

We are pleased to announce that Instro has secured funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP07) for a research and technology development project intended to improve the protection of critical infrastructure within the EU.The iDetect4All project, aims to develop a system able to detect and authenticate objects and intruders with higher performance and lower cost than existing approaches. New US office now open

Instro Technology Systems, Instro’s new US operation is now open. Based North of Boston in Nashua, NH, this exciting development is intended to better serve our existing customers in the US market and support the growth of an increasing number of active project engagements. The British Physics Olympiad organization (BPhO) encourages study of the physical sciences by setting stimulating physics competitions for participating schools. Two competitions are held annually with all UK schools receiving details concerning the competitions at the beginning of the academic year in September.

    Instro receives order for the supply of over 50 Wasp motorised pan and tilt units.

    The Wasp is quickly becoming Instro’ current best seller in the motorised pan and tilt unit line. Not surprisingly the Wasp owes this ongoing success to its versatility and attractive specification.

    Instro receives repeat order for the supply of 500 Maxi pan and tilt heads.

    The Maxi is Instro’s toughest manual pan and tilt head and is unsurpassed with respect to ruggedness/ reliability and value for money.

    Instro receives repeat order for the supply of 200 anti mortar radar support tripods.

    The order from a major prime contractor is for a specialist rugged carbon fibre based tripod with levelling base assembly. The tripod has been designed for rapid deployment and to provide a high level of rigidity and payload capacity with low weight.

    Instro receives repeat order for over 500 of its ever popular ‘Bulldog’ tripod.

    The Bulldog tripod has been in Instro’s catalogue for many years. Over time The Bulldog tripod has proven to be very popular due to its robustness versatility and reliability. A key feature of the Bulldog tripod is tensional stiffness making it an ideal choice for rotating payloads.

    Instro receives repeat order for 50+ Mantis motorised pan and tilt units with matching tripods.

    The Mantis is Instro’s flagship motorised head product, offering only the very best in performance, capacity and reliability. The tripod selected to complement the Mantis, not surprisingly is Instro’s Groundmaster tripod, another premium product well known for its overall toughness and longevity.

    Instro receives 40+ repeat order for its ever popular MSTAR tripod support system.

    The MSTAR tripod support system has been in constant use for many years and is based on Instro’s Bulldog tripod with appropriate accessories to support the MSTAR ground surveillance radar.

    Instro receives a new order for the supply of 100+ sets of man portable remote surveillance support equipment.

    The equipment is focused around Instro’s Hornet motorised pan and tilt head and Trilite Tripod is intended for use by dismounted personnel with normally handheld EO sensors. The Hornet motorised pan and tilt unit is unique in the fact that it features both payload interface and tripod interface common to Instro’s range of manual pan and tilts and goniometers.

    Instro selected for the supply of support systems for UK SSARF program.

    Instro’s new Midi pan and tilt with fine adjust capability goes from strength to strength with this new order for 700+ systems from a major UK customer. The Mini pan and tilt and Trilite tripod have both proven to be real winners having served a number of important orders.

    Instro is selected as the subcontractor of choice for the supply of support system for major new technology targeting systems for use by UK forces.

    Instro’s THOR goniometer stars in this program and is complemented by the Trilite tripod and accessories.

    Instro receives a repeat order for the supply of 160 missile support tripods.

    The missile support tripod serves to extend the use of the normally shoulder launched missile and has proven to increase battlefield effectiveness. Instro was part of the original missile system team and is looking forward to more sales of this tripod in 2007.

    New Mini PT fine adjust proves to be an instant hit with customers.

    On launch Instro secured two contracts for Mini PT fine adjust systems including tripods. The orders are from major US and UK prime contractors with a supply total of over 750 systems. Mini pan and tilt head with fine adjust

    Instro's new Remote Observation System (ROS) provides a complete 'off the shelf' wireless solution for users who require a highly portable rapidly deployed and self-contained remote surveillance capability. The system is ideal for use with traditionally hand held EO sensor devices and is conveniently accommodated in padded cordura carry bags for easy transportation.

    New OEM laser range finder modules now available.

    Instro's new eye-safe OEM laser range finder modules are based on Instro's patented Precise Distance Measurement (PDM) technology and offer impressive performance in distance measurements between 20m and >9000m . OEM laser range finder modules are available with or without full enclosure for integration into customer systems.


    Already under contract! Instro have already been awarded contracts for the fully enclosed OEM laser range finder module with optional sight which has generated a great deal of interest even prior to the products official launch. Significant numbers of this version have been supplied in 2006.

    New Mini Pan & Tilt head details now available on line.

    The Mini PT is a rugged compact and very lightweight unit optimised for man portable applications. Suited for payloads of up to 10kg, the Mini PT features independent axis brakes and an interface common to Instro's THOR goniometer range. The Mini PT is available with or without a levelling bubble and will shortly be available with an integral fine adjust mechanism.

    New Meerkat Ultra Compact tripod introduced due to operational requirements.

    The Meerkat Ultra Compact has been introduced due to operational requirements for a very compact lightweight and rugged support for surveillance and target marking. The Meerkat Ultra Compact is based on Instro’s battle proven Meerkat tripod which has been used extensively in recent conflicts.

    Eurosatory 2006

    Instro will be in attendance at Eurosatory in Paris France between the 12 and 16th of June. On display will be many new and exciting military and surveillance products. We look forward to seeing you there.

    SPIE Defence and Security Symposium

    Instro will be in attendance at the SPEI Defence and Security Symposium in Florida USA between the 17 and 21st of April.

    MILIPOL 2005

    Instro is exhibiting at Milipol Paris between 22-25th Novermber.Our stand this year will presenting our exiting range of homeland security products including some brand new concepts.

    Instro service products on trial in Canada

    Instro's portable leak test and purging equipment is on trial in Canada with the Canadian armed forces logistic corp. The compact unit has so far passed both first and second echelon requirement tests.
